DESCRIPTION
The customer desired to create opportunities for fans to place objects representing great memories or value into a significant, permanent, respectful structure. This would allow them to commemorate their interest and loyalty to the sport of racing, especially at Richmond Raceway.
Timeless Columbaria developed the mega-sized piston, integrating 125 private “fan spaces,” along with space for 1500 “fan memories” containers in a common space inside of the piston. The 8-foot diameter, 21-foot tall, 8,000-pound stainless steel structure was fabricated and installed at the main entrance to the racetrack. Graphics are permanent laser-sintered ceramic on stainless steel substrates, forming a composite logo. A high-intensity LED array provides daytime and nighttime identity for this special marquee monument.
